"First Rays Of The New Rising Sun" - посмертный альбом Джими Хендрикса, вышедший в 1997 году. Состоит из записей над которыми Джими работал в последние дни своей жизни и которые могли войти в его будущий альбом, а также из треков периода 1968 - 1969 годов. Финальное микширование и ремастеринг выполнил Эдди Крамер. Первый альбом, за процессом обработки которого следили члены семьи Джими Хендрикса.

Американский композитор, певец и гитарист-виртуоз Джими Хендрикс родился 1942 году, умер в 1970 в возрасте 29 лет. Этот человек изменил звучание рок-музыки, бесконечно расширив возможности электрогитары. Творчество музыканта повлияло на все жанры музыки, его работой восхищались многие известные музыканты, в том числе Курт Кобейн, Ричи Блэкмор, Майлз Дэвис, Фредди Меркьюри и другие. В 2009 году американский журнал Time назвал Хендрикса "величайшим гитаристом всех времен".
